When to go
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
You can photograph the exterior of St Pancras Renaissance Hotel during any month.
The morning, midday and late afternoon on an overcast day will give you similar lighting conditions. Early weekend mornings or midmorning and late afternoon on the weekday tend to be less busy if you don't want a lot of people in your shot.
Field tips
Try angling yourself so you can incorporate the depths of the architecture. You'll be able to get all of the different heights, textures and intricacies from an angled perspective, rather than straight on.
I incorporated a black cab car to give the photo character. Also, keep an eye out for the infamous purple Nissan Figaro that’s usually parked outside the hotel. It's a beautiful vintage-looking car that complements the renaissance-style backdrop.
I recommend going inside the hotel to photograph the beautiful staircase. The best way to access this area is by walking through the main hotel entrance, turn left, and walk through the first door you see on the left.

Do nearby
Pop into the hotel cocktail bar if you have time. They do really nice cocktails!
I recommend checking out Coal Drops Yard which is behind King's Cross station. This shopping and dining district is a lovely place to go for window shopping or a bite to eat.
