One of the prettiest spots in Covent Garden is waiting for you! The classic London-red façade, complemented by blooming flowers and local pedestrians and cyclists, make this location an ideal spot for lifestyle shots.

This photo was taken outside of the Crown & Anchor pub in Covent Garden. I stood on Neal street, diagonally across from the pub to get this view.
By London Underground:
- Closest station: Covent Garden Station (Piccadilly line)
- Head northeast on Long Acre/B402 toward James St
- Turn left onto Neal St and the pub will be on your right
Address:
Crown & Anchor, 22 Neal St, London, WC2H 9PS, United Kingdom
Tips
When to go
Best season
May, June, July, August, September
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The lush flowers and greenery will be on display in the late spring and summer months at Crown & Anchor. During this time, you'll get the most vivid colors.
This pub is busy no matter what time of the day you go. For the best lighting conditions, I recommend visiting during the day before rush hour. It's a popular spot for post-work drinks, so make sure to arrive early if you don't want a lot of people in your shot.
Field tips
Get the best results by taking your shot from an angle. An angle will allow you to create more depth and dimension in your photo.
Embrace the atmosphere of the neighborhood and incorporate people into your shot, but try not to have too many distractions. You still want the pub to be the main focal point!
Make sure the building is straight so you have nice, even lines in your frame. If the lines aren't straight, you can always edit in post-processing to get a more symmetrical frame.

Do nearby
Explore the two floors of Crown & Anchor. Grab some fish and chips or a drink and enjoy the charming dark-wood interior.
Two of my favorite cafés, Abuelo and Café Boheme, are nearby too. Abuelo serves delicious farm-to-table food and Café Boheme is inspired by the 19th century French poets who used to meet on Old Compton Street.
Walk to Covent Garden Market. This bi-weekly indoor market has fresh food vendors with over 20 restaurants. It's been around since 1845, so it's a staple in the Covent Garden area!
