This prehistoric coastline has been in the making for 185 million years and is one of England’s most dramatic natural scenes — especially from this hillside perspective.
This view of Durdle Door, the limestone archway, was taken from the hill above the coastline along the beach of the Jurassic Coast. This location is best accessed by driving and then parking your car in the Durdle Door Car Park (50.624137, -2.268154).
From the car park, walk southwest along the South West Coast Path until you reach the GPS coordinates where I stood to take the photo. The path is clearly marked and it's a short 11-minute walk to the cliffside. You can't miss the archway once you're walking on South West Coast Path.
