In the 12th-century, French Bishop Reginald de Bohun brought a modified style of Gothic architecture to England. The technique quickly expanded all over the country, but the first true example of this new style was exemplified at The West Front of Wells Cathedral. The 300 sculptures, massive size and intricate detailing of the cathedral acts as mother church of the Diocese of Bath and Wells and for over 850 years, it's served as a landmark of Gothic architecture in the UK.

This image was taken in front of The West Front of Wells Cathedral, which is in the small city of Wells. The easiest way to get here is by car, but you can also take a bus.
If you're traveling by car, I recommend parking in the lot that's south of the building (51.209417, -2.645282). Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see the exact spot where I stood to capture this image, facing east.
By bus:
- Closest stop: HSBC Bank (via 67, 173, 174, 376 Mendip Explorer or 683 buses)
- Head northeast toward The West Front
