As if a Jane Austin novel were to come to life, this storybook village is the perfect place to capture an image that transports you back into a much simpler time.

I took the image in Castle Combe looking north onto The Street bridge and By Brook. You can get to this location by car — it's about a two hour drive from London. Follow the GPS coordinate directions and you'll come to this view.
Tips
When to go
Best season
May, June, July
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
To capture the greenery in Castle Combe, visit during the summer months. Fall and winter are also beautiful here, but they will have different foliage patterns.
For vibrant greens, photograph the bridge and village view during the day.
Field tips
By using a wide-angle lens (16mm) you'll be able to frame more of the By Brook crossing under the bridge.
Incorporating the houses on both sides of the bridge, with a bit of the brook, will help you create a real sense of the village and its architecture.
For an added human element, be patient and wait for one or two locals walking by.
This shot is fairly easy because the bridge is photogenic from any angle. Experiment and photograph from different perspectives to create your own unique viewpoint.
