Walkway from The Glades Bromley to Civic Centre Multi-Storey Car Park

Engaging and symmetrical with a pop of unexpected color, this beautifully lit passageway isn't your typical tunnel. Capture the brown arches and yellow banister that draw the eye into the center of the frame and create an illusion of a never-ending passageway — transforming the ordinary to extraordinary.

This image was taken inside the walkway that leads to Civic Centre Multi-Storey Car Park from The Glades Bromley, which is a large shopping center in the town of Bromley. Make your way to Civic Centre Multi-Storey Car Park, which is at the intersection of Kentish Way and Stockwell Cl. Then, head to the southwest corner of the parking lot (51.404179, 0.019199) where you'll be able to see the above-ground passageway that leads to The Glades Bromley. Continue walking along the passageway until you reach this view. Reference the GPS coordinates to orient yourself. By public transit: - Closest train stop: Bromley South (via Thameslink or southeastern) - Walk east toward Kentish Way and then Head north on Kentish Way - Turn right on Stockwell Cl

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The interior walkway from The Glades Bromley to Civic Centre Multi-Storey Car Park can photographed during any month.
You can go to this location whenever — it just depends on your preference and photo style. I prefer natural light coming through the glass windows, and if you want to find similar lighting conditions, I recommend visiting in the morning, midday or late afternoon.

Field tips

A wide-angle lens is a must here! I used a 15mm focal length to capture all of the passageway.
Position yourself in the center of the walkway. With all of the leading lines in this image, it's important that you are in the middle of your frame. If you're not, your entire photo will be off.
For a sense of scale, try incorporating a model or two. Having models in your shot will add a softness to your photo and that'll contrast nicely against the more industrialized architecture.
If you don't have models here, just be patient and wait until someone walks through the walkway.
