This image was taken along The Bund (外滩), one of the largest tourist attractions in Shanghai. To get similar framing that's captured in this shot, follow the GPS and then find any spot between two of the street lamps.
By Metro:
- Closest Station: Nanjing E Road (Line 2 or 10)
- Take 'Exit 2'
- Turn left on Nanjing E Road
- Turn left on Zhongshan East Road and this view will be in front of you

When to go
Best season

Sunrise
You can photograph from The Bund any month of year.
Visit after a big rain storm (or bring along lots of water!) to capture a water reflection. Early morning golden light will bring out the reflection and add some softness to your image.
Field tips
If you didn't visit after a big storm, you can bring and pour water on the path to get a reflection.
Try using a wide-angle lens (16-35mm) to capture the entire skyline in the background, as well as the path.
I used a model, but you could also wait for some local people walking by to enter your frame. It'll bring a human element to your image.
There are many other angles you can experiment with here. This spot is also great for a portraiture — get creative!

The Bund is one of the best waterfronts in Shanghai, so take in the sights! Walk along the path or go through The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, which has a light show as you travel under the Huangpu River.
