This photo was taken from Kirby Cove.
The hike to get to this spot is about three miles with about 650 feet of elevation change. The trail to the cove begins at the parking area for Battery Spencer on Conzelman Road.
When you walk west from the parking area, you'll want to look for a gate at the top of a hill where the road starts to descend down. Follow the dirt road all the way down until you reach a campground. You'll see Battery Kirby, a historic army battery, at the end of the road, where you'll also find the beach where you can capture this view. It's a small stretch of sand, and this photo was captured at the western-most side of the beach, close to the rocks and boulders that create the edges of the cove.
