All months of the year are suitable to photograph this mural.

The featured image was taken in the late-afternoon when there wasn’t direct sunlight on the mural. In the morning you should also be able to get lower light. Try visiting on an overcast day so you can avoid harsh shadows from other objects in the area. They designed the parking lot so cars don’t obstruct the mural.

Be sure to preserve the art piece.

Avoid times when there is direct sunlight on the mural - it tends to make it look flat. Lower light works best.

I used a wide-angle lens (16mm) but since you have a lot of space you should be able to make any lens work.

My buddy and I thought it’d be fun to create a hanging effect on parts of the mural. Get creative and be sure to set your camera to burst mode.
