My list of favorite things to photograph has roads, mountains and fall colors on it. I love this spot so much because it has all three! When the colors begin changing in the Eastern Sierra, this is one spot I make sure to visit!

This road shot is located on the June Lake Loop (Highway 158), a 16 mile loop off of Highway 395. There are multiple lakes along the loop, including June Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake, and Grant Lake. This spot is located between Grant Lake (on the north) and Silver Lake (on the south).
Make your way toward June Lake on Highway 395. If you are coming from the south, you will want to turn left at the southern entrance for June Lake Loop. There is an easily identifiable Shell gas station at the corner. Once you make the turn, drive about 9.3 miles to the spot. You will pass June Lake, Gull Lake, and Silver Lake. Just before the 9.3 mile mark, you'll enter a small aspen grove, look for a small, dirt parking spot in the trees on the right. Park there. The road shot is looking back the way you just came.
If you are coming from the north. You will turn right on the northern entrance for June Lake Loop (Highway 158). You will drive 6.4 miles, passing Grant Lake, and park on the left in the aspen grove (see above).
