This is the ideal summit for hikers who are looking for a challenge. Once you reach the top of this peak, you'll have 360-degree views of the mountains surrounded by incredible natural beauty. It's definitely a climb getting there, but the trek is well-worth all of the effort!

This image was taken on the Sonnjoch mountain with a view of the Karwendel mountains.
First, begin driving towards Achensee, and then continue further to the village of Pertisau. From the village, take the road to Gramaialm and park in the Parkplatz Gramai (47.402897, 11.617025). South of the parking lot, there will be a well-marked trail leading you to Lamsenjochhütte.
The hike from Gramaialm to Lamsenjochhütte takes about one and a half hours, then I recommend taking rest in Lamsenjochhütte. Get some great local food or just fill up your water bottle and relax for a bit.
From Lamsenjochhütte to the Lamsenspitze/Sonnjoch summit, it'll take you about an hour and a half again to get where I stood to get this photo. Again, the trail will be well-marked with little yellow signs on it. At any point on this journey, reference the GPS coordinates on Google Maps and you'll find your way to where I stood to get this view.
Please note that this hike is for skilled and experienced hikers only and near the end of the hike, there'll also be a via ferrata portion, which is not easy. Do not attempt this hike if you aren't a well-equipped hiker.
