Kebema Panorama Bridge above Schlegeis Stausee

Although this shot of a suspension bridge in the Austrian Alps seems like it's taken from high above the mountains, I actually stood on a hill directly in front of the bridge to get this jaw-dropping, yet accessible, perspective. On your way to the bridge, you'll encounter mountain goats and sweeping views of the sapphire-blue lake beneath you as you come to realize that the journey is just as photogenic as the destination at this location.

This image was taken on the rocks that are directly behind the Kebema Panorama Bridge, which is above Lake Schlegis. First, you'll want to park your car at Parkplatz Schlegeis Stausee (47.029771, 11.695665), which you can also get to by bus during the day. Then, follow the signs for the restaurant called Olpererhütte (it will be well-marked). The hike to the restaurant and suspension bridge will take about an hour and a half to two hours and once you get to Olpererhütte, you'll need to head north to the rocks that are just south of the suspension bridge. Reference the GPS coordinates to see where I stood. I suggest having your model stand on the suspension bridge looking north while you're on the rocks photographing north toward the lake.
