The compact downtown area of Seattle, which is also known as the Central Business District, gleams from the sun setting in the west as it dips below Elliott Bay.

This view of Downtown Seattle was taken from the 16th floor rooftop lounge at The Post Apartments.
Although it's easily accessible, the apartment building from where I took this photo is a private residential building. You can either enter into the building and then wait for a resident to ride up in the elevator to the 16th floor or you can request a tour from the concierge. Once you're on the 16th floor, stand facing northwest and you'll be able to capture a similar view of the city.
By public transportation:
- Closest station: Pioneer Square Station (Link light rail)
- Head northwest on 3rd Ave toward Cherry St
- Turn left onto Columbia St
- Turn right onto Post Ave
Address:
The Post Apartments 888 Western Ave, Seattle, WA 98104
