Arguably one of the most photogenic beaches in Washington, this family-friendly stretch of sand offers panoramic views of the Quillayute Needles, a sea stack wildlife reserve that rises dramatically out of the Pacific Ocean. In late summer and fall, the setting sun illuminates these rock formations with a heavenly glowing halo of light, creating a picture-perfect moment.

This photo of one of the sea stack was taken from Second Beach, looking southwest off the coast towards Cakesota rock and the surrounding rock formations.
To get here, navigate to the Second Beach Trailhead parking area (47.898193, -124.623746), directly off Push Rd. From the parking area, head west and downhill to a kiosk and port-a-potty marking the trailhead.
Follow the trail for about two miles until you reach the beach itself. Once on Second Beach, turn left and hike east along the beach. Reference the GPS coordinates to find the exact spot I stood to achieve the perspective in this photo.
Note: my telephoto lens makes the sea stack featured in my image appear closer to the beach than it really is.
