Just south of King's College and across the High Street lies this impressive and imposing archway with a Near Eastern influence as seen in its minaret towers. Even with all of the unique architecture in Old Aberdeen, this location stands out as one of my favorites.

The image was taken outside of Powis Gates, just south of King's College in Aberdeen. You can either take a car or just walk (about 1.5 miles) from the Aberdeen Station to get to this spot.

- Closest station: Aberdeen (via Caledonian Sleeper, CrossCountry, LNER or ScotRail)
- Head northwest toward Guild St/A93
- Turn right onto Guild St/A93
- Turn left onto Stirling St
- Turn left onto Hadden St
- Slight left onto Correction Wynd
- Turn left at St Nicholas St
- Turn right toward Upperkirkgate
- Turn left toward Upperkirkgate
- Slight right toward Upperkirkgate
- Turn left onto Gallowgate
- At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Mounthooly
- Turn left onto King's Cres
- Continue onto Spital
- Continue onto College Bounds
- Turn left, then right and Powis Gates will be on your right
