Iconic 2022 Building

This image of the Iconic 2022 sign was taken on the north side of the building. As you drive through Al Buwairda Street, you'll be able to see the building right away—it's so big, you really can't miss it! Once you're on the north side of the building, reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see where I stood to get this perspective. You can take a ride share or taxi, ride on public transportation or drive to get to this location. If you're traveling by public transportation, take the Gold Line to Sport City. For drivers, there's a parking area right across from the building where you can park (25.266236, 51.449893).

Iconic 2022 can be photographed, but please note that this building will only be standing until the end of 2022.

For similar lighting conditions, photograph the building around midday when the shadows will be more prominent. I also recommend going during sunset when the sun will set just behind the sign. It makes for a beautiful photo and it's also not as busy later in the day.

A wide-angle lens (16mm) is necessary so you're able to incorporate the entire sign in your frame. For reference, I shot with a 16mm lens.

One of the best ways to emphasize the structure is to have a model stand in the shot. A human subject will also help to serve as a reference of scale.

From an aerial perspective, the building says "2022" (like it does from the street view), so if you want a different perspective of the same building, I recommend bringing a drone. Just make sure to check on the local drone regulations before flying.
