When to go
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The weather in spring and summer are the most pleasant to photograph this location, although any month will do!
Since you're standing on an elevated platform, the sun will create nice shadows to capture below you. You can go almost anytime during daylight hours, but try to avoid the harsh mid-day sun.
Field tips
The soft blue-green hue of the station's steel beams forms a perfect frame to capture passersby below.
On the ground level, the elevated train line casts long shadows on the street below. You can follow the line for several blocks and find several interesting shadows along the way.
The M-Train itself also provides countless photo opportunities. There are front facing windows in the very front and back of the train cars that offer prime views of the tracks. These thick windows are often dirty, giving you an authentic, weathered, film-like perspective of the city.
The train platform above offers largely unobstructed views of the neighborhood.
