One of the most spectacular lakes in the US, Lake McDonald's colorful rocks are as well-known as the lake itself. As the lake glows in violet hues, each one of the stones will remind you how neat things can be in nature. After seeing thousands of photos of this place, I got to take my own, and needless to say, I was even more impressed in person.

This photo of Lake McDonald was taken in front of Apgar Boat Rentals in Glacier National Park.
Drive into Glacier National Park by using the west entrance and drive on Glacier Rte 1 Rd. Turn left into Camas Road and then right into Apgar Lp Rd to the tiny village of Apgar along the lakeside.
You can reference Apgar Boat Rentals and leave your car at the parking lot nearby. Once you've parked, walk a couple of feet to the beach toward the dock.
I stood just to the side of the dock to have this view of the lake and the stones.
