Residing in the historical Wurlitzer Building, The Siren Hotel has an impressive façade to photograph as it towers above the street, incorporating the Detroit People Mover track through the frame.

This image was taken on a median on Broadway Street, looking up at The Siren Hotel and Detroit People Mover transit track.
I recommend parking on the street or at the Opera House parking garage, then walking to the GPS coordinates.
By Detroit People Mover:
- Closest Station: Broadway Street People Mover Station (DPM)
- Turn right on John R Street
- Turn left on Broadway Street and the hotel will be on your left
Address:
The Siren Hotel, 1509 Broadway St, Detroit, MI 48226
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Morning, Mid-day
As long as there isn't a lot of snow in the winter, the weather will not effect The Siren Hotel façade.
It's best to photograph this location in the morning when the sun is directly hitting the front of the building. Later in the day the building will be backlit or lit from the side, which is harder to expose for.
Field tips
To capture both The Siren Hotel and Detroit People Movers transit, I suggest using a wide-angle lens. I used a 26mm focal length.
Try shooting in both vertical and horizontal orientation for different perspectives. You can always re-crop the image in post-processing.
Create a sense of symmetry by aligning the building in the middle of your shot. Having the building as the main focal point will make it seem larger-than-life as it towers over the street.

Head into The Siren Hotel for a drink at Populace Coffee or stay at one of the rooms to get the full experience. One of my personal favorite rooms is The Chamber Suite Penthouse — it's amazing to photograph!
