This waterfront park is an arm's reach from Navy Pier and has one of the most scenic viewpoints of Chicago's skyline and Lake Michigan. With a model sitting on the edge of the lookout, you can really take this location to the next level — especially in the winter when the lake is still frozen.

This image was taken just south of the Lake Michigan waterfront viewpoint at Milton Lee Olive Park, looking west toward 875 North Michigan Ave (formerly known as the Hancock Building, Water Tower Place and the rest of the Chicago skyline.
To get here, I recommend walking. From Lake Shore Drive, head east toward Jane Addams Memorial Day Park. Pass through the park and walk north. Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see where I stood to get this west-facing view of the lake and cityscape. My model sat on the lookout, which was north of where I stood. They were on the other side of the railing, but for safety, I recommend staying on the inside of the rails.
By public transportation:
- Closest station: Grand (Red Line)
- Head east on E Grand Ave
- Head north to Milton Lee Olive Park after passing Lakeshore Dr
