Field tips
When composing your shot, try to align your camera perfectly with the lines in the basketball court. I used the built-in grid in my camera to help center the line down the middle of my frame and I also made sure the mirroring courts on the side were perfectly symmetrical. With such a minimal composition, it's important to keep things balanced and precise.
Add a human element to your photo to play up the sense of scale — it'll also adds some life into your image. I added a model on a bike wearing a contrasting color in order to pop against the sea of red.
I used an iPhone, but if you're shooting with a camera, you'll need a wide-angle lens to get a large portion of the basketball court in your frame.
