This image is a look down of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club on Middle Island off the southern coast of Hong Kong Island, between Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay. To get there, I recommend taking the bus and then ferry (which is free!).
Once you have arrived to the island, follow the GPS coordinates to get to the exact location I stood to launch my drone. The view will be below you!
Alternatively, it's possible to launch your drone from the main island without having to get on a ferry across the river. I don't recommend this because the distance is quite far, but it can be done!
By Bus & Ferry:
- Bus number: 6A, 6X, 73, 260, 973,65
- Exit at the second stop after Deepwater Bay Beach ( 52 Island Road)
- Follow small set of stairs with a sign “Middle Island” to a small pier on Seaview Promenade
- Upon arriving to at the pier, you can take RHKYC’s free shuttle boat which departs every few minutes with the following schedule:
+ Monday – Thursday: 10am – 10.30 pm
+ Fri: 10am – 11.30pm
+ Sat: 7.30am – 11:30pm
+ Sun and public holidays: 7.30am – 10.30pm
