Olomana Second Peak view of Olomana Third Peak & Koʻolau Range

Covered in lush greenery and framed by untamed branches, this trail has to be one of my favorites on Oahu. It's a challenge hiking up to the three peaks, but the reward of seeing miles and miles of tropical landscape interrupted by a rigid peak that immediately captivates the eye makes it all worth it!

This image of the Olomana Third Peak was taken from the Olomana Second Peak, with a south-facing view of the Koʻolau Range mountains. The trail head for the three peaks is near the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club and you can park in a lot off of Loop Rd (21.362049, -157.760479). It's about a 15-minute walk from the neighborhood parking to the entrance, so account for that if you're trying to hike at sunrise. My recommendation is to start the hike an hour and a half before sunrise because it'll take about an hour and 15 minutes to get to the second peak, which is my favorite vantage point. After parking, head north along Loop Road and you'll get to the Olomana Ridge Trailhead (21.368425, -157.760975). Follow the trail to the second peak and then face south for a view of the third peak. Reference the GPS while you're hiking and you'll find the spot where I took this shot.
