Atop one of the highest — and most majestic — views in all of Hawaii, this Maui volcano takes you above the clouds for a view that's heavenly. It's one of my all-time favorite spots to visit for sunset because you can capture the ethereal clouds as the fog traverses over the mountain's landscape.

This image of Magnetic Peak was taken along Keonehe'ehe'e (Sliding Sands) Trail in Haleakalā National Park.
After driving through the main entrance of the park, continue driving up the mountain until you reach 9,700 feet. There, you'll come to the main parking lot (20.714630, -156.250672) with the crater overlooking the viewpoints. Locate the Keonehe'ehe'e (Sliding Sands) Trail and begin to hike down the trail until the full crater is in your view.
To get to where I stood for this photo, reference the GPS coordinates while you''re on the trail and then have your model hike on one of the peaks in front of this south-facing view of Magnetic Peak.
