This image of the old staircase was taken on the ground floor of the German Historic Museum (Deutsches Historisches Museum), which is in Berlin.
To get to the location, make sure to walk into the main entrance of the museum (off of Hinter dem Gießhaus) and then head straight through toward the courtyard. You'll be able to get to this location of the museum without the need of getting a ticket for the museum, but just make sure to arrive during opening times (10AM-6PM daily).
While in the courtyard, walk straight and to the right. Then, head toward the little wooden door where you'll see an old staircase. Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll be able to find the spot where I took this photo.
By public transportation:
- Closest station: (via 12 or M1 Tram or M1 Bus)
- Head east on Dorotheenstraße toward Am Kupfergraben
- Turn right onto Am Kupfergraben
- Continue onto Am Zeughaus
- Turn right onto Unter den Linden
