Perfectly framed through a stone archway is the 17th-century built dome of the Institut de France. The distinguished architecture has had many purposes over centuries, serving as a school, a prison and presently it's open to the public so all can enjoy the preserved piece of history.

This image of the Institut de France was taken from the southern side of the outdoor corridor along Cour Carrée. I stood facing south toward Pont des Arts for this perspective of the dome.
