To capture a photo of Big Ben, most people take the path closest to the river, but this hospital garden is a hidden gem that offers an unobstructed view of the clock tower and Palace of Westminster. Bring along a snack and enjoy sitting among the roses as you gaze onto two of London's most famous landmarks.

This picture of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster was taken from St Thomas Hospital Garden. I stood behind the blooming roses, facing west, to get this perspective of the buildings. The easiest way to get to this location is to take public transportation and then walk about nine minutes.
By public transportation:
- Closest station: Waterloo (via Jubilee, Northern and Bakerloo)
- Head south on York Rd/A3200
- Turn right on Westminster Bridge Rd
- Turn left into the hospital gardens
Note: Big Ben is currently under renovations. Before visiting, check the status of construction to see how it will impact your photos.
