Wisteria Vine Archway & Pink Door on Bedford Gardens

I took this photo on the north side of Bedford Gardens in Kensington. When you get to Bedford Gardens, you can stand directly outside of the vine-covered entryway. Make sure to keep a respectful distance and do not enter the property. By London Underground: - Closest station: Notting Hill Gate Underground Station (via Circle, District or Piccadilly lines) - Head east on Notting Hill Gate/A402 toward Kensington Church St/A4204 - Turn right onto Kensington Church St/A4204 - Turn right onto Bedford Gardens and the destination will be on your right

May is the peak season for the Wisteria to be in bloom, but you may get lucky and have an early blossom of April flowers along Bedford Gardens.

You can find similar lighting conditions during the day, but try not to go too late in the morning or too late in the afternoon. Before 11am is the most ideal time!

You'll have to get fairly close to this entryway, so make sure to be respectful of the residents. This is a neighborhood and you don't want to disturb anyone.

By using a wide-angle lens (17mm) you'll be able to frame most of the faćade and Wisteria arch.

Take advantage of the natural framing from the vines. Try to use the Wisteria to guide you and align your shot so that the arch of vines goes over the door.

Because it's such a unique and vibrant color, the pink door can be the main focal point. Position it in the middle of your image so it draws the eye to the center.

For other colorful residential buildings, head to Hillgate Place.

Visit one of my favorite local pubs, Churchill Arms. It's a restaurant and pub dedicated to Winston Churchill and the exterior is covered in an assortment of different flowers. It's a perfect Instagram opportunity!
