The word charming is personified along this private lane in Burford. The flowers seem to come alive and the rustic architecture is adorned with wood-accented windows.

This image was taken on an unnamed, private lane off of the main road of High Street in Burford.
From A361, head south on High Street and then when you reach Antiques At The George, you'll see an archway that leads to this private road.
There are many places to park in the area, but I recommend parking in the Burford Car Park (51.808640, -1.633057) and then walking to High Street.
Since this is a private residence, please respect the houses and do not approach or touch the properties.
Tips
When to go
Best season
May, June, July, August, September
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
I took this photo of the private Burford lane in August. If you want a similar scene, with the flowers in bloom, then I recommend visiting in the summer.
Morning, midday and late afternoon on an overcast day will be best at this location.
Field tips
Since this is a private residence, please respect the houses and do not approach or touch the properties.
I tried to use the rule of thirds when I took this photo. If you'd like to do the same, I suggest having the flowers in the bottom third, the houses in the middle and the sky and chimneys in the top.
Having someone walking in the distance would create a nice composition, too. Have them wear a bright color so they stand out against the stone houses.
Get closer to the cottages for a perspective that's more focused on the architecture.

Do nearby
There are plenty of lovely shops and cafes to choose from along High Street. Some of the most popular are The Mermaid Inn, Huffkins Burford and The Sweet Shop Burford.
Lynwood & Co Cafe is a great place, and one of my personal favorites, to grab a cup of coffee in Burford — and probably in all of Cotswold!
