Kamenice Gorge Ticket House along Edmundova Soutěska River

This image of the ticket house along Edmundova Soutěska River was taken within the Kamenice Gorge. I stood on the small island that's across the river to get this perspective of the house. The only way to get to this location is by driving. First, I recommend parking your car in the designated parking area (50.868798, 14.295947). There are additional options nearby that are free of charge, but if you park in the lot, you'll have to buy a parking ticket for about 7€ from the hotel called "Penzion Na vyhlídce". After parking, follow the path behind the hotel and walk south. Then, head west once you reach the river. After about 10 minutes, you'll cross a bridge and then turn right. Walk another 15 minutes and you'll reach the spot where I took this photo (reference the GPS coordinates while walking). For the same perspective of the house and river, you can also buy a ticket for the boat tour (www.en.hrensko.net) and snap some photos while you're on the river — you'll pass right by this viewpoint.

In order to capture the green landscape, you'll want to visit in the late spring and summer months. In my opinion, May is the best month to visit.

In addition to having the best lighting conditions and chances for calmer water in the early morning, this time of day is also when the ticket office will fire up the heat so you're able to capture the smoke rising from the chimney (like I have in my shot).

Since you'll be standing on an island to take this shot, please be careful of your footing and belongings.

I recommend getting as low as you possibly can with your camera so you can photograph a nice reflection of the landscape and house against the body of water.

I shot with a medium format camera, which has a full frame of about 50mm that will increase the image fidelity for your prints.

The house should be the focal point here. Position yourself so that the landscape isn't blocking the view of the architecture.

Even though you don't need to purchase a ticket to take this shot, I still recommend taking the boat ride along the river. It's very enjoyable and peaceful — especially in the morning.
