How to get there

N31° 12' 24.12"E121° 24' 44.0424"
To get this shot, I stood on the orange-colored inner ring pedestrian path, which can be accessed by Yan'an West Road, below the elevated road. You can stand on this pedestrian path and launch your drone from there to fly it directly overhead. By Metro: - Closest station: Loushanguan Rd (via line 2) - Take a right on Tianshan Rd - Take a left on Yan'an West Rd where you'll be able to walk up to the orange-colored pedestrian path

Tips

When to go

Best season

April, May, June, July, August

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
To capture the lush greenery within the intersection, I recommend going to this spot April-August when everything is in bloom.
To ensure the intersection is well-lit, visit during the day.

Field tips

Before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations and permit requirements.
Although you'll be standing on the street below the elevated intersection, it's still a busy area so watch out for cars.
The intersection is best seen from the middle where the crossings are all aligned. It will create a perfect "X" shape if you're looking down at the exact center.
Flying at different heights and angles will result in very different perspectives.

Check out the famous Nine Dragon Pillar near the cross section of Nanbei Gaojia near People’s Square. Most people pass by without even noticing it's there, but this Shanghai legend isn't one to miss. Nine Dragon Pillar is adorned with nine large, bronze dragons slithering around the structure. It's bigger than the rest of the pillars, so it'll surely stand out!
