This image of the model was taken on the grounds of the Jing'an Temple near the west side of the building. Once you enter the temple, reference the GPS coordinates and you'll find where I stood to get this shot.
Since the subway is underneath the temple, just walk to the ground floor from below the station, then go to the second floor of the temple on the left side to get this view.
