Founded in 1927 and regarded as the "Villa of Dreams", this Norwegian-style hotel has almost 100 years of history in the city of Shanghai. It was originally a private residence for a British merchant prince and since it's been open to the public, it's become a distinct example of a cohesive blend of eastern and western architecture — especially amongst the city's modern skyscrapers.
