Discover one of Los Angeles' prominent piers along the shoreline of California. No matter how many times I visit, I always uncover new perspectives to photograph. Sunset often brings beautiful, vibrant hues that are knock out.

The featured image is of the Manhattan Beach Pier. I stood on the south side of the pier on the beach.
There are a few parking lots near the pier and you can also find street parking.

Sunset
What's great about Southern California is the weather is pretty nice all year — so visit Manhattan Beach whenever.
The sunsets are epic here. It's not uncommon for the sky to light up even on a cloudy day.
Field tips
By using a wide-angle lens (24mm) you’ll be able to photograph the whole pier; a longer lens will give you a tighter shot.
Try using a tripod and Neutral Density filters to help enhance the reflection, if that’s what you’re going for.
Always keep an eye on your tripod if you’re near the water. I've seen too many cameras go down when photographers leave their tripod and a wave comes in!
You can capture great perspectives from under, to the left, and to the right of the pier. Experiment!

There are so many good spots to eat nearby! I recommend MB Post, Love & Salt, and Fishing with Dynamite.
