Resembling another planet, the mars-like landscape of this Death Valley lookout is otherworldly. The waves of hilly badlands seem to be endless and in the distance, the mountains only get bigger. The four-and-a-half hour car ride from LA might sound lengthy, but to experience this supernatural scene makes it well worth the trek.

This image was taken from Zabriskie Point, which is Death Valley National Park. I faced west from the lookout to get this perspective of the badlands and mountains.
After entering the park, exit off of the 190 Highway and park in the Zabriskie Parking Lot (36.420256, -116.813797). Reference the GPS after you've parked your car and you'll find the spot where I took this photo.
