Sprawling cliffs rise above the magical beach, showcasing the uniqueness of the fin-like rock that gives the place its name. A favorite among many locals, this is one of the best beaches in Northern California.

This photograph was taken from a pathway near Shark Fin Cove.
It’s located nearly a mile south of the town of Davenport off Highway 1. The parking area has a lot of spaces in the dirt, but there are no signs. I recommend turning "satellite" imagery on your Maps to see the shark fin-shaped rock in the imagery.
Once you've parked the car, take the path away from the road and down to the train tracks. From there you can either view the cove from above, or go down the small, but steep, path to the beach.
